We are absolutely thrilled to present the breathtaking transformation of your guest bedroom! What was once a visually busy and somewhat disjointed space has blossomed into a truly serene and inviting haven. Our vision for a Serene Modern Farmhouse style has been realized beautifully, creating a room that feels both fresh and timeless, perfectly balancing rustic charm with clean, contemporary lines. The most striking change is undoubtedly the calming color palette. The overwhelming rabbit wallpaper has been replaced with elegant board and batten wainscoting in a creamy off-white, topped by a soothing sage green. This harmonious combination, paired with natural wood furniture and soft textiles, creates an atmosphere of peaceful tranquility. Every element, from the comfortable bamboo bed to the thoughtful placement of the fiddle leaf fig, contributes to a cohesive and restful experience. This room is now a true retreat, designed to offer your guests a comfortable and stylish escape. The abundant natural light from the window is beautifully framed by new sheer curtains, enhancing the airy feel. We are incredibly proud of this design and believe it will bring immense joy and comfort to all who stay.

• Removal of the visually overwhelming rabbit wallpaper, replaced by a serene sage green and wainscoting.

Color Story

The color story centers around a soothing and natural palette. A soft sage green (Primary: #A2BE9E) dominates the upper walls, creating a calming backdrop. This is beautifully complemented by creamy off-white (Secondary: #F5F5DC) on the wainscoting, trim, and sheer curtains, providing a clean and airy feel. Subtle dusty blue accents (Accent: #6A8A8C) are introduced through throw pillows, while natural wood tones from the bed and dresser add warmth. Metallic touches of bronze and black in the curtain rod and sconces provide elegant contrast and depth, resulting in a perfectly harmonious and tranquil atmosphere.

About the Original Room

The original room featured an extremely busy and specific rabbit-patterned wallpaper that overwhelmed the space. While the room had good architectural bones, including a sloped ceiling and a large window, the existing furniture was mismatched and dated, contributing to a cluttered and undefined aesthetic. The overall feeling was chaotic and lacked a clear design direction.

Transformation Journey

Our transformation journey began by stripping away the overwhelming rabbit wallpaper, instantly opening up the space. We then introduced classic board and batten wainscoting, painted in a creamy off-white, grounding the room and adding architectural interest. The upper walls were adorned with a calming sage green, setting a serene mood. New, appropriately scaled furniture, including a bamboo bed, rustic dresser, and elegant nightstand, were carefully selected to fit the Modern Farmhouse aesthetic. Layers of soft textiles, updated lighting, and natural decor elements like a fiddle leaf fig plant were added to complete the inviting and cohesive design.

Designer Notes

This project was particularly rewarding due to the dramatic 'before and after' contrast. I'm incredibly pleased with how effectively the overwhelming original wallpaper was replaced by such a serene and sophisticated palette. A key challenge was ensuring the sloped ceiling, which could feel awkward, was integrated seamlessly into the design through the careful application of paint and wainscoting. The choice of warm, natural wood tones against the cool sage green creates a beautiful balance that feels both grounded and airy. It truly showcases how powerful a cohesive vision and thoughtful material selection can be.
