The newly refinished light grey concrete floor offers a clean, modern contrast, creating a durable and stylish foundation. Color Story

The color story revolves around a captivating deep forest green for the shiplap walls, balanced by a crisp light grey on the refinished concrete floor and ceiling. Warm creamy neutrals are introduced through the sofa and linen curtains, while natural wood tones in the coffee table and console add earthy warmth. Accents of black in the lighting fixtures and rustic bronze hardware provide a sophisticated, industrial edge.

About the Original Room

The original room was a raw, unfinished space characterized by dark green painted walls, a stained concrete floor, and dated ceiling fans. It lacked any furniture or aesthetic appeal, feeling more like a utility room than a living area, despite having good natural light from its windows.

Transformation Journey

Our journey began by completely reimagining the foundational elements: the walls were clad in elegant green shiplap, and the concrete floor was expertly refinished to a smooth, light grey. With this stylish canvas, we introduced a thoughtfully curated selection of furniture, including a comfortable sectional sofa and a discreet murphy bed for ultimate functionality. Layering in warm textiles like a jute rug and linen curtains, along with industrial-chic lighting and botanical art, completed the evolution from an empty shell to a beautifully appointed, inviting living space.

Designer Notes

This project was particularly rewarding due to the dramatic transformation achieved. I'm especially proud of how the bold choice of deep green shiplap walls truly paid off, creating an immediate sense of character and warmth. Integrating the murphy bed was a creative solution to maximize functionality without compromising the aesthetic. The blend of rustic wood elements with the cleaner lines of the furniture and the modern concrete floor feels perfectly balanced, delivering a space that is both stylish and incredibly livable.
